You have our full attention

Since its creation, the Musée d’art contemporain de la Haute-Vienne – château de Rochechouart has been offering a range of activities especially for visitors with specific needs.

The museum is continuing its efforts to ensure ease of access for all and to tailor its offer to reflect not only the possible social, cultural or economic difficulties experienced by visitors, but also motor skill, sensory, psychological and intellectual difficulties. The outreach department tailors visits to suit the requirements of each group (visits only, visits combined with a workshop, fun visits etc.). The museum also has a huge well-equipped educational area reserved for use by groups and for workshops, as well as a documentation center.

The Museum’s renovation project in 2001 made the entire building accessible to people with reduced mobility and strengthened support for everyone through the implementation of innovative, tailor-made systems.

Visitors who wish can, by appointment, benefit from a personalized welcome to be accompanied in the discovery of the castle and the museum. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome at the museum. Cane seats are available to visitors to facilitate the visit. The museum also specializes in welcoming young children, favoring access to “toddlers” (1-3 years old).

The public service has already intervened in retirement homes and hospitals, particularly in collaboration with occupational therapists. These interventions can be carried out over several sessions, with the possibility of travel for the mediator.

F.A.L.C Booklet

Determined to make culture accessible to all and to disseminate information on the castle and its enduring works, the museum offers a free booklet in the F.A.L.C language (in french).
