For her first solo exhibition in France, Brazilian artist Tadáskía takes over one of the historic rooms of the Château de Rochechouart.
Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1993, Tadáskía is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, sculpture and poetry.
An Afro-descendant trans woman, Tadáskía nourishes her work with personal stories, which she reflects through an abstract, organic and flamboyant vocabulary. Her universe immerses us in mystical landscapes, true odes to nature and its transformations.
In Rochechouart, the artist takes over the wooden panels of an 18th-century salon. Here, she improvises a composition in charcoal and spray, inspired by night butterflies (moths), symbols of union between illumination and darkness, and of seeking freedom.
This environment takes us into both diurnal and nocturnal territories, where everything is a game of balance and motion, as in the suspended canvas b.trans.f. I (2025), which suggests flying beings moving through space.
This event is organized as part of the Brazil-France 2025 Season.
With the support of Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel gallery, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
