The Haute-Vienne Museum of Contemporary Art has partnered with ENSAD in Limoges and is participating in its “Coup de pouce” program by inviting four young artists to take part in its exhibition series “Le musée en mouvement”.
Here, four of them are on display.
Four who will graduate in 2026, four who are presenting a significant selection of their work alongside the museum’s collection.
Here, their presence fosters an encounter between different generations and different backgrounds, and speaks to us of contemporary art in all its diversity.
Set against the experiments of the Dadaist artist Raoul HAUSMANN, the works of Koré LECHAT-MENARD and Anaïde FONTAINE defy conventional modes of interpretation. Anaïde’s universe brings together drawings, digital collages, and three-dimensional works, opening up a strange, mineral-like world. In this distant, celestial—or simply dreamlike—realm, things obey silent yet powerful forces.
Transformation also animates Koré’s pleated drawings and ceramics. Her repeated gestures produce minute variations, and the materials slowly change. Textile becomes stone, yet its suppleness defies the laws of gravity. Elsewhere, imprints permanently replace the objects that gave rise to them.
On the second floor and in the attic, Léana ROCQ and Yixuan SHEN explore the theme of memories that resurface. In Léana’s paintings, motifs tirelessly drawn from her family environment shift from canvas to canvas, weaving together multiple references. Yixuan’s work retraces the footsteps of a past that remains ever-present. Straddling memory and spirituality, her enchanted houses make way for the invisible, for living memories, or for the universal silhouette of a dreamlike landscape.
What they all have in common is that they offer a visible testament to the invisible forces that give this exhibition its name. All of them play with the motif, a seismographic trace of realities parallel to our own.
